Eye on Nature - Wearable Arts 2024

This term we had 14 of Somerville Intermediate's most promising young designers and master up-cyclers show off their wearable arts creations on the catwalk at the prestigious Due Drop Events Centre on 13th June 2024. The Beautification Trust runs this event annually and the focus of this enterprise is to connect and empower communities to learn, love and look after our environment.

Our talented students presented their unique, eco-friendly creations with each one meticulously designed to reflect the Eye on Nature 2024 theme, “Act Local - Growing with Te Taiao”. This competition encourages students to think deeply about their material choices and the impact they have on the environment highlighting the importance of sustainability and conscious fashion.  

Congratulations to all 14 students who took part in this competition- you can be very proud of your amazing creations and for representing Somerville to such a high standard. Lastly we want to thank everyone who helped the students be prepared for this event, we appreciate your help in fostering creativity and allowing them to grow as artists.
