AAIMS Orienteering

The Auckland Champs Orienteering competition held on Thursday 16 May was a great event, despite the wet conditions.

The girls started at about 10:45 am after being briefed on the courses they needed to complete. With their chip attached to a finger and a map in hand, it was a bit of a muddy and slippery start. The uphills and rocky downhills posed a challenge for the girls to stay on their feet and keep their north accurate. The last stretch of the race was a good sprint with adults cheering the girls on. They were able to stay on course and completed it promptly.

Well done Year 7 and 8 Orienteering girls!
