Auckland Champs Cross Country

The Auckland Champs Cross Country event was held at the stunning Muriwai Beach Surf Life Saving Club, bringing together the top 10 athletes from nine zones across Auckland. With 80 to 100 competitors in each year group, the event showcased a high standard of competition.

With a challenging coastal course along the black sands of Muriwai beach that tested speed, stamina and determination, the event saw thrilling performances as runners battled for top positions in their respective year groups. 

Somerville athletes delivered commendable performances with the top go getters in the Year 7 Girls' category, Olivia S finished 11th, while Jack M secured 47th place in the Year 7 Boys' race. In the Year 8 divisions, Amber B shone with an impressive 2nd place finish for the girls, and Ethan M achieved 22nd in the boys' category.
