SEZ Netball

Somerville Intermediate had a fantastic day at the SEZ Netball tournament held on Friday 2 August. Our five teams showcased exceptional talent, hard mahi and great sportsmanship, making us incredibly proud. We had 2 year 8 girls teams, 2 year 7 girls teams and a mixed 7/8 boys team. These teams were a bit of a change compared to the regular teams playing in the Auckland Netball Tuesday evening competition, however all the players gelled together seamlessly and produced some excellent results.

Year 7A placed 3rd in their division, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Auckland Champs. 
Year 7B dominated their division, securing a well-deserved 1st place.
Year 8A had an unfortunate loss in the pool round to move them into the 5-8th section of their division, ultimately placing 6th at the and of the day.
Year 8B delivered a strong performance finishing up in 2nd place overall.
Year 7/8 Boys achieved an outstanding first place finish, earning a spot in the Auckland Champs.

The dedication and teamwork displayed by all our players was exceptional. The positive feedback from staff and parents is a testament to the students’ character both on and off the court. Ka pai netballers!
