Weetbix Tryathlon

On Wednesday 22 November, 18 Somerville Intermediate students participated in the South Auckland Weetbix TRYathlon at Mountford Park.

With an early start to secure positions in the transition zone for their bikes and running gear, there was then plenty of time to explore the buzzing atmosphere at the venue with free Weetbix breakfast, prizes up for grabs at sponsor tents, famous faces to have a photo with and an obstacle course to run.

The competitors set off in their respective age groups to complete a 150m swim, followed by an 8km bike ride and 1.5km run.  All put in a fabulous personal effort in hot and busy conditions and seemed to have a lot of fun whilst at it!  Finishing line medals were well deserved.
