SEZ Futsal

Girls

On Monday 25 June, 11 girls represented Somerville at the SEZ Girls Futsal tournament held at Auckland Netball Centre. 

The team gained confidence with each game, winning against Northcote, Pakuranga, Elim and St Kents in their pool rounds. We advanced to the finals unbeaten where we trumped St Kents once again, 3-0. The girls came home wearing their gold medals proudly. 

The team would like to extend a special thanks to our coach, Darryl Hamilton, and we greatly appreciated all the parent support we received on the day. 

The Futsal girls should be extremely proud of themselves, not only for their win, but also for the outstanding sportsmanship they displayed throughout the day. 

Boys

On Thursday 4 July, the boys Futsal team participated in the SEZ Futsal tournament held at Auckland Netball Centre in St Johns. We started off well, finishing 2nd in our pool, notably winning one of our games 13-1 vs Sancta Maria. In the knock out stages, we won one game, lost one and drew another. This meant that we finished 6th on the day. 

The boys showed great sportsmanship and enjoyed the day overall. We would like to extend a special thanks to Darryl Hamilton for coaching the team on the day and throughout the term.
