Auckland Champs Boys Hockey
On Wednesday 7 August, our Boys SEZ hockey team had the privilege of competing in the prestigious Auckland Champs competition at North Harbour Hockey. The team showcased their skills and determination throughout the day, participating in four intense pool games.
The boys emerged victorious in three of these matches, demonstrating excellent teamwork and strategy. Their only setback came in a hard-fought match against St Kentigern College, where they narrowly lost 0-1. Despite this loss, and due to a 1 point goal differential, the team remained resilient and focused as they entered the playoff game for 5th and 6th place.
In the playoff, our boys faced off against King's College where they secured a well-deserved victory, finishing in 5th place overall in the tournament. Their sportsmanship and dedication were commendable, and they truly represented our school with pride.
Congratulations to the team for their fantastic performance and for making us proud. Well done!
