SEZ Swimming

The Somerville Intermediate swimming squad delivered an outstanding performance at the South Eastern Zone swimming competition at Lloyd Elsmore on Wednesday, 19 March. 22 excited Somerville students competed against swimmers from Beachlands, BBI, Elim, Farm Cove, Sancta Maria, and
St Kentigern in various 50m events. Many of our swimmers made it to the finals and pulled off some fantastic results!

The day wrapped up with the exciting 4 x 50m Freestyle and Medley relays, where our swimmers gave it their all. Here are the results for our top six finishers:

50m Freestyle
Year 7 Boys: 1st - Cavan R (33,53), 2nd - Kieran H (33,58), 3rd - Ian L.W (36,19)
Year 8 Girls: 3rd - Celestine Z (30,90).
Year 8 Boys: 3rd - Jayson Z (31,52), 4th - Adam S (31,64), 5th - Eric G (31,68).

50m Backstroke
Year 7 Girls: 4th - Oria L (44,46).
Year 7 Boys: 1st - Cavan R (38,85), 2nd - Kieran H (40,09), 4th - Harry S (43,49).
Year 8 Girls: 3rd - Celestine Z (35,20).

50m Breaststroke
Year 7 Girls: 6th - Jasmine A (51,46).
Year 7 Boys: 1st - Cavan R (43,69), 2nd - Harry S (48,01), 3rd - Ian L.W (49,09).
Year 8 Girls: 4th - Celestine Z (42,75).

100m Freestyle
Year 7 Boys: 1st - Cavan R (1.13,75), 2nd - Kieran H (1.14,21).
Year 8 Girls: 3rd - Celestine Z (1.09,74).
Year 8 Boys: 3rd - Eric G (1.10,46), 4th - Adam S (1.10,54).

50m Butterfly
Open Girls: 3rd - Celestine Z (33,80).
Open Boys: 2nd - Eric G (37,83), 3rd - Cavan R (38,47).
