Swimming Sports

It was a great start to the sporting year with our annual school swimming sports. This was held at the Papatoetoe 50m outdoor pools on Friday 16 February with our Year 8 classes, and on Friday 23 February with our Year 7 classes.  We were blessed with sunny skies and warm weather for both our events.

The days were run with a large number of timed heats, which then produced finalists and some very close races between students. In addition to this, there was also the House “Fun Width Races”. A big thank you to our amazing staff and parent helpers who ensured the smooth running of both the heats and the finals.

Congratulations to all the swimmers, in particular those who placed in the top places in each event. These swimmers will represent Somerville Intermediate School at the South Eastern Zones competition on 13 March.
