Te Reo
We place an emphasis on developing a sense of belonging and connection to our school and community.
The cultural capital that all our students bring to their learning is respected and incorporated, along with an understanding of our heritage/whakapapa, regard for our local iwi and Mātauranga Māori (Māori world view, perspectives, creativity and cultural practices). All students learn Te Reo.
Our Pepeha
In our pepeha we share our connections with the people and places that are important to our school. As we continue to learn about our local area, our pepeha may evolve to reflect new understandings.
Karakia Tīmata (Morning )
He rā anō tēnei ki te tipu pērā i te mangemange
Today is another day to grow like mangemange
Ki te whakaatu i te whanonga pai ka piki ai ki te taumata
To show a positive attitude and climb towards excellence
Ki te whakaatu i te mana me te manawaroa
To show integrity and perseverance
Ki te whakaatu i te manaakitanga me te kotahitanga
To show respect and be of service
Koinei te rā ka tū kaha au
Another day to be the best I can be
Tūturu whakamaua kia tina, tina
We understand and agree
Haumie hui e, tāiki e
Let's make it so
