On Monday 18th September, the SEZ Girls Basketball team travelled to the Bruce Pulman arena for the South Eastern Zone Basketball tournament. It was a very rocky start to the competition, with some calls going against us and the team taking some time to gel together. We went down to Mission Heights 9-6, but the girls kept their heads up and started to work the ball nicely to secure a dominant victory over Sir Edmund Hilary, 14- 1.  Unfortunately, those were the only games they were able to play. The girls still had fun and demonstrated great sportsmanship.

On Monday 18th September, the boys SEZ basketball team had an opportunity to play in the SEZ tournament. The boys played well and should be proud of what they accomplished. Out of the 2 games played, they lost one to Mission Heights and won the next against Sir Edmund Hillary. Unfortunately with the loss to Mission Heights we were knocked out of playoff contention. The boys also had a few friendly games after and managed to get some well deserved wins there. Overall the boys should be proud of their accomplishments and they played with great sportsmanship.
