On Thursday 31 August, 21 Kawhe Hui students travelled in the minivans to Wintec, Waikato Institute of Technology. The purpose of the trip was to look at a food and hospitality training facility, observe the ‘back of house’ and the ‘front of house’ teams in action, and learn about careers in the industry. 

We were very fortunate to be able to have a two course lunch in Windows, their fine dining ‘training’ restaurant and were able to see how this was run and compare and contrast this with our cafe, Kawhe Hui. We have come back with some ideas to help improve our practice.
