In Week 5, Term 1 our Whānau Prefects (32 students) were involved in the first part of our 2023 Leadership Camp.

On Wednesday 1st March, they attended the GRIP Leadership Conference in Albany. They worked alongside approximately 200 other students from other schools to unpack big leadership concepts in a fun and engaging way.

This week they had the second part of their Leadership Camp. They spent the night at school taking part in team-building challenges (within their four councils; Hauora, Sport, Community and Arts & Culture) and stayed overnight in the school gym.

On Wednesday, students took part in an Amazing Race Challenge around East Auckland. They were guided by senior leaders from Howick College and challenged with different tasks that required them to put their leadership skills into practice.

We are so lucky to have such enthusiastic and hard-working students who are committed to developing their leadership capabilities and making Somerville Intermediate a great place to be.
