On Sunday 26 March, 21 Somerville students woke up bright and early to participate in the Howick Rotary Fun Run and Walk. It was a brisk but clear morning and the students were very excited to get going.

The race kicked off at 9.00 am with the ‘Elite runners’ and there were some very familiar faces in the front row, Connor B, Moojin L and James W, among others. Next the intermediate runners were released, followed by the primary runners and finally the casual runners.

The first Somerville runner to cross the finish line was Jake S and Callum W followed him not too long after. Then came Amber B, who was closely followed by Ethan McG. When Ethan crossed the line, we rushed to Mrs East to claim the Howick Fun Run Trophy for the fifth year!

Finally Somerville had some good luck in the raffle afterwards as well, with one student receiving a jewellery voucher, and another winning an E-Scooter. Overall, it was a lovely event and the students put in a great effort!
