Somerville students really do rock!

Three bands from Somerville Intermediate (involving 28 students!) competed at the Rockshop BandQuest on Thursday 1st September at Auckland Girls Grammar School. Here, our bands competed against schools from all over South and East Auckland.

It was a high energy night, with all bands stunning with their polished performances. Somervllle scooped four awards on the night. These included Sean and Oscar from the Green Rangers sharing the Killer Guitar award, the whole Red Rockets band and Elena from Blue Cheese shared the Musicianship award, while Blue Cheese also won the Best Original song award.

It was a hugely successful night for all three Somerville bands, with many of the students involved saying how excited they are to keep performing in the future.
