The Year 7 and 8 speech finals were held on Tuesday 5th September. Eight well prepared but excited speakers in each of the year groups sat nervously waiting for their opportunity to persuade, inform or entertain the audience. Four cool and calm impromptu speakers waited as well!

The judges were Mr Ellery, Mrs Saunders and Mrs Anderson. They had their task made even more difficult this year as the standard of content and delivery from the prepared speakers was extremely high. All speakers can feel great pride in their achievement. The results are as follows:

YEAR 7
1st Seth Hutching: Are You Unique? You Decide.
2nd Harrison Madden: Food.
3rd Josh Radford: Winners and Grinners and Losers...well, aren't.
Winner of Impromptu: Aidan Ward.

YEAR 8
1st Rahil Patel: Being Unique.
2nd Georgia Kainamu: You Are Your Own Kind of Beautiful.
3rd Orlando Meadows-Allan: 100 Years.
Winner of Impromptu: Daniel Toms.

We are looking forward to the next stage of the competition, which is in week 9. The judges have made the decision to put through Seth Hutching for the prepared speech and Daniel Toms for the impromptu speech. Good luck to you both, and thank you to all those involved in the competition so far.
