Last Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Somerville Intermediate singers and musicians gathered here at school with students from Point View, Botany Downs, Shelly Park, Willowbank and Mission Heights Primary, to present two fabulous evenings of choral and instrumental music.

This year's massed choir of over 400 children was the largest in the history of the Somerville Festival and they performed with flair to packed audiences over both nights. One highlight of this year's Somerville Festival was the large number of our Somerville musicians supporting the choirs. The Stage Ensemble, Year 8 Rock Band, and the Ukulele Band all accompanied various choir items and did a fabulous job!

Events such as this require many hours of preparation and extensive focus and self-discipline. All performers, as well as Nathan Anderson, our very able A/V man for the festival, are to be congratulated for making this year's festival such a huge success!
